| Customer Reviews: It doesnt cut anything unless it really thin? August 14, 2010 E. Cantu (Muscatine IA) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I tried this tool and had high hopes for it. I had seen the informercials for it and thought...wow what a great tool. Well i ordered it and tried it. I tried making a plunge cut into a 2x4...it would get stuck even after I would crank it all the way up in power. I tried cutting carpet...it wouldnt do anything at all.
I was enfuriated that this machine does not cut anything I tried it on. I honestly dont know what else it could be useful besides sanding maybe? ANd there is definitely no point in buying this then.
Buyer Beware!!
works great so far August 9, 2010 D. Mosbeck (Concord, NH USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
After research, it looked like the best bang for the buck. So far I have been using it to lift old flooring and it works better than expected.
Reminds me of the cost of ink for printers... August 1, 2010 hw 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
Bought one from big box store and returned it, in same day. Note only note the heading I gave, refering to replacement blades, but my testimony is, DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY, on any brand oscillating tool. Had my son use it first. He whined, I went and looked, and thought this ain't right? I took the tool and tried to complete his assigned task, cutting a 4X4 rectangle in 5/8" sheetrock. I, as Dads' do, said let me show you how...5 minutes later, after using several dif cutting attachments told him to get the sawzaw, then start the truck.
These type tools may be useful for very small intricate wood/metal work, but not for normal construction or household projects.
Don't let the hype fool you. Borrow or rent one, like I should have done, and like I tell my kids about Xbox games, to ensure it's liked it before purchase. Another Dad lesson learned.
A real time saver. July 29, 2010 Kaoz 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've seen this type of tool advertised over the years but never paid much attention. While at Lowe's I noticed they had one on sale so I'd thought I would try it out on a hardwood floor repair job I was doing. I was sold after a few seconds of using it and realized what I was missing out on over the years. However my experienced taught me that whenever you have the option to get a variable speed power tool, get it instead. Better to have the option so I returned the single speed model to Lowe's and purchased the variable speed one from Amazon. Along with my dog, this tool will always be first on my list to have on any job from here on.
I just love it. July 25, 2010 Joseph T. Mellon III (Hammonton, NJ USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is by far a quality item. I was looking at the 300.00 priced tool and then found this baby. I love it. Very well made.
