Bought it to alter some belts. Did the job just fine. I'm sure they will come in handy for other jobs too.

I tried to punch a little hole in a sheet of copper, but not only did it damage the copper sheet but , it broke the punch. I wouldn't recommend these punches. It works only in soft surfaces, like leather, rubber, etc.

The punches seem pretty stout and of decent quality although I haven't used them much. The plastic case they came in was completely shattered and in pieces when it arrived. Very thin and inadequate to hold the heavy punches. I would suggest building or buying a wood box for them.

When first gathering tools for the book binding hobby, I must have purchased a zillion sets of hole making tools. This one works as well as any other, However, in the end I should have purchased the Japanese tool, costly but what is needed for bookbinding.
This item works great for very large holes!! lol

Quality and sharpness of the punches are acceptable as is typical of low cost Chinese tools. They will do the job. My guess is oil/chemical residue on the punches degrades the low grade plastic case. It had disintegrated into dime sized flakes and punches were rattling around loose in the box upon delivery.
