| Customer Reviews: Great Drill March 8, 2010 Margaret L. Downing (Georgia) Great, powerful, light weight drill. Service was prompt, but did not receive any packing slip or receipt.
PItty I didn't buy two February 17, 2010 D. Shlomo As always Makita are the best. non-stop working with it. and not a single complain.
a winner! February 15, 2010 ginnyw (Sequim, WA USA) This drill motor is strong, lightweight, fits the hand well, and is easy to maneuver. The batteries charge quickly. I haven't had it long enough to evaluate the charging system over time, but so far I am delighted with its performance. I'd rate it an excellent value.
Poor Speed Control February 15, 2010 SilverSurfer (California) The first thing I did after buying this was replace a bunch of door hinges in the house. The old hinges had straight-slot screws and had been painted over many items, so even after scraping out the slot, it was tricky to keep a bit in there and remove the screw. I used the slow gear setting.
With this drill, it was even more difficult, because it's turning full speed with just a slight press of the trigger. It's really difficult to get it to turn slowly, and keep turning slowly, for tasks like backing out a screw. It's pretty much 0 speed or full speed.
Makita BDF452HW review February 14, 2010 M. Alberto I have used this new compact cordless drill a few times and it appears to be a well made and designed tool.
I like the fact that it IS compact and has good torque.
The chuck locks tools very well and tight. Unlike in older Makitas, the head does not free spin as you tighten the toll.
The batteries charge very quickly and are quite compact- BIG improvement.
The case is well designed on the inside as it provides room for the extra bits, drills, etc. inside the case.
There is only one negative I found: the LED bulb points the light just bellow the spot where one actually need the light such as when drilling a small hole, the light is pointed just bellow the drill bit. I have to see if there is some adjustment for it.
Overall it IS a Very Good Tool, amazingly powerful for it's size.
