| Customer Reviews: Good Stapler for the money August 23, 2010 Unit107 Nice little stapler for the money. Works great for stapling fabric on flat surfaces. The design of the safety tip ensures that your staple is a few millimeters behind where the safety tip meets your work piece. This makes it very difficult to use in tight spaces. I did experience several misfires where the drive pin that deployes the staple didn't fully tract once a staple was ejected, forcing me to have to open the staple magazine and manually push it back to the "ready" position. This seemed to happen regularly when attempting to use in tight spaces, but not so much on flat open spaces where the safety tip could be fully deployed.
Be Warned August 15, 2010 Chris 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I received this as a gift.
It will not take narrow crown staples, not 1/4 inch, not 3/8 inch. It looks like it probably takes 1/2 inch wide staples.
There is no possible way it could take anything else because of how the closing mechanism works.
Unless mine is a defect or something.
Easier on the hands August 14, 2010 Fred (Detroit) I purchased this tool to install carpeting on a stairway. The thought of having to do that task using a hand stapler never crossed my mind. I searched for staplers and found the Surebonder 9500 and based on previous reviews, I purchased the tool. I was not disappointed. I used Arrow staples and never had a misfire. I ran about 2000 staples through the gun over two days. Job completed. The only downside was that the plastic cap or air discharge left a few black marks on the walls. Good tool for small jobs. The next project is insulation.
Exceptional performance and value August 1, 2010 Ken K (Vermont) I waited to run my first 1000 staples through the Surebonder before writing a review. It's been outstanding in every way. Lightweight and comfortable to operate, it delivers ample power to staple into dense hardwood with apparent ease, without jamming or misfiring. While power settings must be regulated at the compressor, the stapler has a very effective safety switch preventing firing unless pressed down on a surface. I hope that my favorable impression is born out over the next 100K staples.
Works Great July 30, 2010 D. Hartzell (WA United States) My wife had an upholstered chair from her grandma. It was not real old, but two of the springs came loose. To get at those, multiple layers of upholstery had to be pulled up. I bought a professional upholstery staple puller and this stapler. These two items made the job easy and the outcome was great.
We also used the stapler to attach triangular flags to dowels for a church kids' program.
I expect to use it for other things in the future. The price makes it nice for an occasional user like myself.
One thing I wish was that the sides of the stapler tapered to a point that corresponded to the center of the staple. That way you could naturally know where the staple would go. You have to think about centered the staple the way it is constructed.
