5 out of 5 stars Great tiny magnets!   July 12, 2010
S. Lisk (IL, USA)
I purchased these magnets to hold items on a magent board in my craft room. I wanted something that was tiny and thin to hold several layers of cardstock. These are PERFECT! I can already tell that I'll be needing another package. They are difficult to pull apart in the beginning, but once they are on the board as a single magnet, I have no problem pulling them off. As far as other reviews about chipping, I don't move them around a lot, and they are usually holding several layers of paper, so they haven't chipped yet. Bottom line - great purchase, great price.

5 out of 5 stars Great for Magnetic Paint   July 5, 2010

I bought these as a trial run and I am extremely impressed. I put up 7 coats of the magnetic paint on a wall. The paint itself is pretty weak but these magnets worked great at holding up my kids pictures, paintings, etc. They are the perfect size and extremely strong. I even bought another set.

4 out of 5 stars Small and Mighty...and mighty small   June 7, 2010
B. Godwin (New River Valley, Virginia)
Whoa is the first word that came out of my mouth when I first took these little magnets out of the package. The pull is so strong it seems nothing short of magic and the way they repel each other is just as amazing. I played with these for a while because it's just hard not to and then I inspected for any chips/cracks and found none. I do realize how that could be possible because they will smack together pretty hard. Yes they can pinch. These are very small and very strong and it would not be appropriate to let very young children play with these.

To give you an idea of their strength, I found that you need only 1 magnet to hold 8 sheets of your average printer paper on the refrigerator. If you are considering getting these to hold items on your fridge you need to understand that due to their very small size, they are hard to pick up with your fingers. If you have long fingernails or arthritis-fuhgetaboutit. For me, removing one magnet from off the fridge means I need to slide it over to the edge to get a little better grip. That being the case, you should really consider some other option if you have a stainless steel fridge because it could leave scratches if one is not careful.

Like an other reviewer, I added only 1 magnet to a small cheapy pen and it holds nicely. I can even toss it across the kitchen to the fridge and am amazed how the pen sticks.

This is an exceptional value for the amount of magnets you get for the price but just understand that if you'll be using these on a regular basis to add the kids' artwork to the fridge as an example, I'd consider getting the larger ones that are easier to handle. Or, just wrap a few of these babies in a square piece of duct tape which will provide something to grab onto as well as protect the finish of the magnet and whatever you are sticking this on. It might be a little ugly but it does the job.

Another great trick is using these magnets as a stud finder. I stick several of these together like a pencil (easier to hold) and go over the wall and this does an amazing job at quickly, easily and cheaply locking onto any sheet-rock screws. I'll put this method of finding studs up against a 50 dollar stud finder! When it crosses a screw, the pull is unmistakable.

...and something else---two magnets on the earlobe looks like earrings...yeah, I had to try that as well just to see. The pull even through the lobe is strong and quickly becomes uncomfortable. These are fun and I'm sure you'll come up with your own "job" for these to handle and when you do, please share it with us.

3 out of 5 stars Good quality, but too small   May 29, 2010

These are good, strong magnets, but they are too small for making many good refridge magnets. They are about the diameter of a shirt button.

Also, because they are so smooth, they don't glue as well as the black ones with a flat finish.

5 out of 5 stars Small and Strong   May 11, 2010
Andre A. Alforque (Chicago, IL USA)
These are small, but definitely strong. It's difficult to separate the magnets from the stack, and difficult to peel a magnet off a refrigerator door.

Just one magnet firmly secures a 4x6" picture to a refrigerator, but they are small enough that you may use four in the corners without covering much of the picture.

I used gaffers tape to secure magnets to a souvenir; the magnets worked strongly through two layers of tape! I used four magnets to keep the souvenir balanced on the refrigerator, but just one is capable of holding it.

Such a bargain, I am buying more for crafts or items I wish to display on the refrigerator.
